Description

The Office of the Special Narcotics Prosecutor (SNP) is seeking a Senior Application Developer to join its IT Unit. This role supports all in-house and third-party business applications in a collaborative team environment. The developer will lead efforts in web application development, database modeling and administration, modernizing Access/VBA applications, SharePoint development and administration, external data integration, and data analysis.

The ideal candidate is fluent in the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), promotes a positive team culture, and supports compliance with IT security and agency standards.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide ongoing production support, maintenance, and enhancements for existing applications.
  • Apply a strong understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Product Lifecycle (SPLC) to develop scalable, secure, and high-performing software using industry best practices and agency standards.
  • Perform data analysis, data profiling, and cleansing using Microsoft SQL Server. Work with structured and semi-structured data (XML, JSON).
  • Design and develop new web applications using .NET and C#, while maintaining legacy applications developed in Microsoft Access and VBA.
  • Develop, consume, and manage RESTful APIs and services for integration with internal and external systems.
  • Administer and develop solutions on Microsoft SharePoint, including custom dashboards, document libraries, workflows, and reporting.
  • Create and maintain a user-driven intranet portal featuring customizable widgets, notifications, and user-specific alerts.
  • Migrate legacy Access/VBA applications to modern web platforms using the .NET framework.
  • Build and administer relational databases (MS SQL Server 2012+), including data modeling, normalization, indexing, and performance tuning.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; with a minimum of 5 years experience in software development and database management.
  • Hands-on development experience with C#, VB.NET, VBA, Classic ASP/VB, .NET Core & Standard, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
  • Proficiency in SQL Server with the ability to write complex queries, stored procedures, functions, and views, and design database objects such as schemas, UDTs, and roles. Experience in SSIS (ETL) and data transformation using XML/JSON.
  • Skilled in SSRS, capable of deploying and managing reports in both Native and SharePoint-integrated modes.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office development, design Microsoft Word templates integrated with SQL Server data sources.
  • Experience with developing, testing, publishing, and maintaining producer and consumer RESTful APIs and a comprehensive understanding of the XML and JSON formats.
  • Strong scripting abilities in PowerShell for automation, including external data feeds, batch processing, and robust exception handling.
  • Good organization and communication.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.
